In 1932, Alexandre Valembois was a young explorer who, along with his native friend Antonio Alverez, wanted to make a name for himself by exploring the mysterious region of Amerzone. After making friends with the locals, he witnessed a strange ritual involving a giant egg of the famous white birds. Wanting to prove that white birds existed, Alexander stole a mysterious egg and betrayed the trust of the locals. Returning to France, no one believed Alexander or his diaries about Amerson. Sixty years have passed and the world has changed. World War II has come and gone, Amezona remains unexplored and closed to outsiders by its autocratic leader, Antonio Alverez. Monsieur Alexandre Valembois is an old man at the end of his life, living alone in a lighthouse and wanting to correct his mistake. At this time, a young reporter comes to visit old Alexander Valembois and talks about his adventures…
Amerzone is a first-person adventure game similar to Myst, set in different rooms and areas. The player takes on the role of a reporter and must unravel the clues left by Monsieur Valembois, traveling through several picturesque locations and eventually reaching the fictional region of Amerzone. The adventure game takes place in several areas. The player can click on the arrow icons to change orientation or move to other areas. Objects of interest change the cursor to a magnifying glass icon. Objects that can be interacted with or picked up change the cursor to a hand icon. The gear icon represents a mechanism that must be manipulated before it can be used correctly. The player’s inventory can be accessed at any time.
