A Dance of Fire and Ice is a one-button rhythm game where you guide two orbiting planets along a winding path by pressing a button in time with the music. The idea is simple, but the timing is extremely strict. Each level has its own rhythm and pattern, and you need to listen carefully rather than relying entirely on what you see on screen. As the paths become more complicated, keeping the planets moving without losing the beat becomes increasingly difficult.
The game takes you through colorful fantasy landscapes built around different styles of music, with the path itself showing you the rhythm ahead of time so you can learn each section before attempting it. There are also free level updates and Steam Workshop support, allowing you to play a large collection of custom levels made by other players. You can adjust the timing calibration to match your setup as well. A Dance of Fire and Ice keeps its controls extremely simple, but mastering the later levels takes plenty of practice and a good sense of rhythm.
