Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a third-person action-adventure set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem. You play as Sophia, a young and determined plunderer who travels to the mysterious Minotaur’s Island while trying to uncover secrets from her past. The island is filled with dangerous enemies, ancient ruins, and clues connecting its mythology to the mysterious Macula. As Sophia explores deeper into the island, she discovers that the legends surrounding the place may be hiding something much more dangerous than she expected.

Combat focuses more heavily on direct action, with Sophia using her agility, parries, tricks, and powerful melee attacks to survive encounters with the enemies searching the island. Exploration also plays a major role, with puzzles involving a stolen Minoan sphere that can manipulate light, dangerous trails to navigate, and a mysterious creature that relentlessly hunts through the island. The story also shifts between Sophia’s medieval journey and ancient Minoan times, gradually revealing how the two eras and their characters are connected. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy combines melee combat, exploration, puzzle solving, mythology, and the series’ familiar supernatural atmosphere into a new standalone chapter of the A Plague Tale universe.
