The Sinking City 2 is a third person survival horror game set in 1920s Arkham, a city being swallowed by a supernatural flood. You play as occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, who enters the drowned city while searching for a way to rescue the woman he loves. The deeper you go, the more the ordinary streets of Arkham give way to abandoned buildings, flooded districts, hidden passages, and places where things from the Lovecraftian mythos are waiting.
Survival depends on managing your supplies and knowing when to fight and when to back away. You’ll use firearms and other weapons against creatures such as the Slither and Deep Ones, while exploring the city for ammunition, upgrades, shortcuts, and useful resources. Investigation is optional, but taking the time to examine strange clues, read forbidden journals, and solve side cases can uncover secrets and reward you with better equipment or safer routes. The Sinking City 2 puts more emphasis on survival horror and combat than the original game, while keeping Frogwares’ detective roots through its optional investigations and Lovecraftian mysteries.
