Approximately Up is a space exploration and ship building game where you and your crew build spacecraft from whatever parts you can get your hands on. You start with a basic frame and gradually turn it into anything from a carefully designed ship to a barely functional collection of engines, cables, and panels. Every component has a purpose, so you’ll need to think about power, fuel, controls, sensors, and the way everything is connected before taking your creation into space.
Your goal is to travel between 15 different planets, complete missions, collect new components, and improve your ships along the way. Each planet has its own gravity, atmosphere, temperature, and environmental challenges, so a design that works perfectly on one world might struggle badly somewhere else. Flights are viewed entirely from inside your ship, making long journeys and unexpected problems feel especially tense when something starts going wrong.
You can play alone or bring up to three friends into the same ship. Multiplayer adds another layer of chaos as everyone works together to build, operate, and repair the spacecraft. Forgetting a cable, mounting a thruster backward, or running out of power can quickly become everyone’s problem. Approximately Up is at its best when a carefully planned mission goes slightly wrong and you and your crew have to figure out how to keep the ship flying.
