BioShock Remastered takes you beneath the ocean to Rapture, a mysterious underwater city built around the idea of freedom without limits. You play as Jack, whose plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic and leaves him with no choice but to enter the city through a strange lighthouse. What he finds below is a world that has fallen apart, filled with hostile inhabitants, disturbing experiments, and clues about the people who once lived there. As you explore Rapture, you’ll gradually piece together what happened and why the city was abandoned to chaos.
Combat gives you plenty of ways to deal with the dangers around you. You can use traditional weapons such as revolvers, shotguns, grenade launchers, and chemical throwers, while genetic modifications give you powerful abilities that can change how you approach a fight. The remastered version also includes high-resolution textures, improved models and interface, 4K support, Challenge Rooms, the Museum of Orphaned Concepts, and developer commentary featuring Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson. BioShock Remastered keeps the atmospheric exploration and immersive world of the original while giving Rapture a cleaner modern presentation.
