The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open-world fantasy RPG inspired by games such as Morrowind, where exploration, strange characters, and player choices shape your journey. You awaken on a remote island after being drawn there by the same mysterious dream that brought other troubled souls to the island. At its center stands a silent Tower, while somewhere beneath it lies a mysterious light connected to the Laughless Saint. As you explore, you’ll follow rumors, investigate old ruins, uncover fragments of the island’s history, and decide which stories and people are worth getting involved with.
The island is filled with unusual characters, and many of their quests can be resolved in completely different ways. You might help someone, betray them, negotiate a compromise, or simply make things worse, with your decisions affecting what happens to the people you meet. The mysterious Amphitheater keeps track of these choices, with characters taking seats in its audience depending on how their stories end. Combat also plays an important role, with multiple weapon types and strange creatures standing between you and the secrets beneath the Tower. The entire adventure can be played cooperatively, allowing you and your friends to explore the island, share loot, complete quests, and make decisions together. The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is currently in Early Access, with more quests, areas, enemies, equipment, and expanded systems planned for the full release.
