Warlord: Awaji is a single-player first-person strategy game set in 14th-century feudal Japan, where you play as a samurai commander ordered by the Emperor to conquer the island of Awaji. Explore a large open world based on the real island, capture villages and forts, disrupt enemy forces, and fight alongside your own warriors in real-time battles. You can directly join combat with period-inspired weapons while also commanding troops, choosing targets, and deciding how to weaken rival clans across the island.
Your army can be expanded by recruiting samurai, promoting experienced warriors, equipping them with better weapons and armor, and organizing melee, ranged, and cavalry units into different formations. You can also build and relocate a war camp anywhere in the world, providing your troops with food, rest, defenses, and guards before moving on to the next campaign. Enemy patrols, civilian convoys, shrines, warrior monks, and rival clan activity continue across the open world, giving you different strategic options as you work toward controlling the entire island.
