BLOODLETTER is a dark medieval deckbuilding game where you take on the role of a barber surgeon trying to protect a strange group of villagers from ancient evils. Your main tools are cards based on old healing practices, superstitions, and the rather unpleasant medical methods of the medieval era. As you work through each run, you’ll build your deck, use different treatments and abilities, and try to deal with the dreadful entities threatening the village.
There are four different entities to cleanse, each with its own rules and victory condition, and each can be tackled across three difficulty levels. More than 80 cards, blessing and curse cards, villager abilities, and transmuters give you plenty of ways to change how your deck works from one run to the next. Successful cleanses also unlock new content, while more than 100 story snippets gradually reveal the strange world surrounding you. BLOODLETTER has a grim hand-drawn style and leans heavily into the bizarre medical practices of the Middle Ages, making every treatment feel like it could either save a villager or make things considerably worse.
